Needs salt bins for winter

There is no salt bins on the Saxon rise estate and every year for 9-10 years in the winter it’s the same problem of really icy roads and paths and the roads have a incline and the drive ways ramps are steep so walking on the path is slippy and dangerous when icy or snowy and the road just is ice for hours and hours and it’s a struggle to get on drives or up and down the road without spinning and due to the issue of not being able to get on drives it increases the risk of people hitting cars on the street because no way for the ice to be melted because there’s no grit boxes or grit trucks

Please note that all grit bin requests are assessed annually between May and October. For a location to be considered, it must meet at least five of the following criteria: • The location is on the public highway • At sharp or difficult bends • At junctions where the side road approach has a gradient • On particularly steep gradients (10% or greater) • Near community facilities (e.g., health centres) • On the only access road to a community • At known problem sites • Not on roads included in the precautionary treatment network • At least 150m away from an existing grit bin If a location does not meet these criteria, Town and Parish Councils may choose to install their own private grit bin, subject to approval from West Northamptonshire Council.
