Given the picture showing the extent of the damage caused, enough to bend/buckle the alloy wheel how on earth is an expected completion date for repairs of 29/06/2026 acceptable!!!
That's over 6 months that WNC and WNH are seemingly happy and content to leave a defect that is clearly already very bad to further deteriorate with the potholes getting larger and deeper causing yet more damage to tyres, alloys and vehicle suspension.
I suppose though that's 6 months worth of compensation claims for damages that can be submitted against WNC which will probably equate to a far higher cost than just carying out the required repairs now.

West Northamptonshire Council is committed to maintaining safe and reliable roads, but it isn’t possible to repair every pothole immediately. The council must prioritise repairs based on available budget, workforce capacity, and the need to address the most safety critical defects first. All decisions are guided by the Highway Inspection Manual, which sets out how road defects are assessed and the timescales for repair. This ensures that resources are used responsibly and that the highest risk issues, such as those posing a danger to road users, are dealt with as quickly as possible while lower risk defects are scheduled appropriately within the limits of available funding.

How on earth can an expected completion date of 29/06/2026 for a defect which is causing multiple vehicles (almost on a daily basis) to experience burst tyres and cracked/buckled alloy wheels.
Given the location of this critical pothole / road surface defect on one of the busiest B-Roads in West Northamptonshire which serves as a vital artery route between Northampton and Banbury for residents who live in the rural villages along and near to it and the fact it is on a stretch of road which is already narrow and in close proximity to the entrance to an active farm/agricultural business surely means this warrants escalation for urgent repair?
The rest of this stretch of road that links Towcester Road and Banbury Road (approx 0.8miles) is also in an horrendous condition.
I have already bought the condition of this road up with Sarah Bool MP as well as Cllr Mark Arnull and Cllr Richard Butler and will be doing so again cited this specific FMS report and its handling as the woeful and unaccetpable response rural roads in West Northamptonshire are receiving.
At least in the meantime as it has been accepted as a defect the driver/owner of every single vehicle that incurs damage as a result of hitting this dangerous pothole will be able to make a claim for the cost of all damages incurred along with compensation against WNC and they should all be successful give the depth of detail already provided on this FMS report and the picture of the buckled wheel ad burst tyre already shared.
