Drain that has submerged
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 14:56, Thursday 15 January 2026
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8694856.
Currently outside of Millers Bank there is drain that is currently flooding the road. The drain cover inside the pipe which seems to be full this is causing the drain to become overflooded If this can be investigated. The water is almost towards the middle of the road and is causing danger for oncoming cars.

Anglian water have visited this evening and confirmed there is a blockage between the road drain and surface water drain. They conducted an ammonia test and there were no traces so it is not foul and therefore not their pipes, the pipes are all surface water and highways responsibility.

You say defect found, but don't say what it is. This happens every time and when it rains hard again it is found that the "repair" has not worked and we are back to the start again. There is never any communication between the contractor and the residents. All very poor and much council tax payers money wasted.

Well, the 18th Feb has come and gone. Work has not started - yet alone completed. The road still has standing water and the drain is blocked. No communication whatsoever. A formal complaint will now be following.

You kindly sent out a lorry to clean out the drain on the road and the surface water drain under the metal grid however after today’s rain we have still encountered the same issue water is backing up again so this has not rectified the issue. Clearly something more serious than simply debris in the drains. Please advise next steps
