Pothole (Trench)
Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 21:51, Tuesday 3 February 2026
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8832604.
There is a deepening pot hole, more like a trench, running near the entire width of the road heading towards the Harlestone road crossroads and before you go past Lidl.
It’s becoming so deep that cars are driving onto the other side of the road to avoid it or coming to a near complete stop in order to avoid damage to tyres and probably their suspension.
It actually looks like a failed repair where digging has been done previously as it is a sunken tarmac surface.
This has been here for months and it seems to be sinking and becoming deeper over time.

This pot hole is going to cause an accident. Some cars are going on to the wrong side of the road to avoid it. The rest of the cars are going into Hill Close causing damage to the road end. Please bear in mind that there are huge lorries using this road and this pot hole is just getting deeper. It needs a revisit and assessment.

This time frame is not acceptable. It is really deep and we drive over this on our way home from work. It is not a small pot hole and needs fixing urgently

This is becoming more and more dangerous. Cars are swerving into a junction and across the other side of the road. This is just outside a busy supermarket on a single route out on a busy industrial estate. I will be reporting this to 101.

This pothole has now resulted in damage to my tyre. Please see attached photo. I have reported this to the Service Claims Team. Disaapointed that this has been reported on numerous occasions and could have been avoided and I am now out of pocket due to poor management of this issue.
