Collapsed wall
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 13:07, Sunday 15 February 2026
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council 18 hours, 16 minutes later. ref: 8923354.
A section of dry stone walling has collapsed. The wall is liable to further collapse soon. The affected section is approximately ten feet wide by six or more feet high. The wall has collapsed onto an easement (a pathway that is not technically a right of way) in between Mill Lane and the B4031. The collapse is right opposite the entrance to number 4 Mill Lane. (number 4 is down the narrow easement, and is NOT Springside, nearby, which it is often mistaken with. Should a further collapse take place, there is a risk of injury/fatality to pedestrians who may be walking along the easement. Also, debris could tumble down the steep slope onto the B4031 and cause a road incident. The occupant of number 4 witnessed the electricity board damage the wall with machinery when a hole was dug at the lower end of the easement. Be aware there is suspected to be sewer and electrical facilities routed under the area of collapse. Best to intercourse with the providers before digging of driving stakes into the surface. I am the owner of Springside, where the property boundaries the wall in question but the wall is a Highways and Council matter as it was constructed by them several years ago. I will also submit a police report owing to the risk to passers by.
