No merge point

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 09:15, Tuesday 14 April 2026

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 9289534.

Every day I am cut up by cars cutting in here, near misses constantly and road rage daily. The lanes on this roundabout need clear markings as it isn't a merge point but is treated as one. The roundabout is blocked every day at rush hour by cars using the inside lane from Red House Road to cut in at this exit. Road rage every day. Been like this for a very long time as more and more people just take liberties and get away with it. The entry lanes from Red House Road need to be marked with arrows to designate right turn ONLY for lane 2 and left or straight on for the 1st lane.

Thank you for your enquiry. Generally, motorists should follow traffic direction signs when approaching a junction along with any supplementary road markings. We can confirm there are advanced directional signs on several of the approaches to this junction. However, in the absence of road signs or road marking, it would be necessary to apply the rules of the Highway Code. In this scenario, that would be section 184-190 of the Highway Code. The Highway Code - Using the road (159 to 203) - Guidance - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Furthermore, we can advise there have been no recorded injury collisions over a 5 year period and therefore we are unable to justify the provision of additional markings as requested.

State changed to: No further action
