Report reference 9414470 - Turning from Spratton Grange Lodge onto Welford Road dangerous

Reported via desktop by Annie Vinton at 12:19, Thursday 7 May 2026

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 9414606.

I have just reported this problem to Nancy @ WNC highways department. She was incredibly helpful. I would URGE whoever visits the site to investigate to enter the driveway to Spratton Grange Lodge and Spratton Grange (from the A5199 Welford Road) and then attempt to leave the drive and turn right. It is extremely dangerous as the cars speed down the hill from the village of Spratton. You have to check/look to the right (where there is a blind spot immediately after the bridge) and then look to the left. The cars speed down the hill from the left and it is virtually impossible to see what is coming down the hill until you are actually on the road itself. Since the by-pass opened, even more traffic is using the A5199 - making what was already dangerous and a safety hazard (to leave the drive and enter the A5199) signficiantly worse. Please could you investigate this urgently as this is a severe accident waiting to happen without a permanent safety resultion being put in place. You can also contact me on 07824 304 403. Thank you, Annie Vinton, Spratton Grange Lodge, Welford Road, Spratton NN6 8LA
