Traffic much worse in recent weeks at 8am and traffic lights taking longer to change

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 9745442.

The traffic is much worse and there is not hazards getting onto the a45, it is just the lights holding everyone up. This has been worse recently and the timings need to be checked

  • These lights are shocking at the moment no matter what time of the day you get to them there is traffic maybe they have been changed so the council can say told you so put a m&s food and it will cause traffic

  • These traffic lights are still bad. This has been going on for what seems like at least 3 weeks. A 5 to 10 min delay causing unnecessary congestion and pollution. Can you please fix this?

  • Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme) - Thank you for your enquiry. This site is monitored daily via CCTV to assess traffic conditions and signal performance. Our observations indicate that traffic levels at this location are currently higher than usual due to drivers diverting away from other nearby roadworks. The traffic signal equipment at this site is due for renewal as part of a planned upgrade programme. In the meantime, we are reviewing the current signal timings and are investigating whether adjustments can be made to improve traffic flow on Saturday mornings ahead of the renewal works. We will continue to monitor the site to ensure the signals operate as effectively as possible until the upgrade takes place.
